The First Step: How You Felt When You Entered the Edge of the Galaxy
What You Saw When You Stepped Out of the Space Taxi
You feel a jolt of adrenaline. You feel a rush of freedom. You feel a thrill of exploration.
You float out of the space taxi. You look around. You see a dazzling display of colors and shapes. You see a cosmic dance of light and shadow. You see a majestic spectacle of creation and destruction.
You float back to the pilot, who grins and welcomes you back. You hop on the space taxi, along with the other passengers, who are all starstruck and enlightened.
You see stars shining brightly, planets orbiting gracefully, nebulas glowing softly, black holes devouring fiercely, comets streaking swiftly, asteroids colliding violently.
You see beauty and mystery, order and chaos, light and dark.
You look back. You see the galaxy in your palm. You see the billions of worlds, the trillions of lives, the quadrillions of stories. You see the grandeur and the insignificance, the diversity and the unity, the past and the future.
You see the galaxy as a whole, as a living entity, as a divine creation.
You look within. You see the secrets of the universe. You see your own soul, your own mind, your own heart. You see your hopes and fears, your dreams and nightmares, your joys and sorrows. You see your essence and your purpose, your identity and your destiny, your freedom and your fate.
You see yourself as a part of the universe, as a unique individual, as a precious being.
You look beyond. You see the edge of imagination. You see the unknown and the infinite. You see the possibilities and the potential. You see the challenges and the opportunities. You see the wonder and the adventure.
You see imagination as a power, as a gift, as a responsibility.
You are mesmerized. You feel a surge of awe and joy. You feel a sense of connection and understanding. You feel a glimpse of eternity and infinity.
The pilot slams the door and revs the engine but it doesn't start.
He says, “I hope you had a blast. I hope you learned a thing or two. I hope you found your bliss.”
He pauses and then says over the intercom, “We have a tiny hiccup. We have run out of fuel due to a boo-boo. But don’t freak out, we have a plan. We have a VIP on board who can bail us out. His name is Alex. He’s a whiz. He’s a champ. He’s my buddy.”

The pilot comes back on the intercom and says, “Just kidding, folks.”
The stewardess invites you to speak with the pilot in the cockpit.
The devil spins around in the pilot's seat. He asks you for the peanuts.
He says, “One peanut has enough energy to power this space taxi back to Earth. You have the peanuts, right? You’re the one who can save us all, Alex.”
Bewildered, you say to the devil that he ate all of the peanuts and the shells are on the floor.
He says, "My bad, I didn’t know they were important. I was hungry. I was bored.
You say, “I thought you said you were kidding about the fuel.”
The devil says he was dead serious but didn’t want to spook the passengers. You say, “But you already spooked us. How can you be out of fuel? Do you have any peanuts left?”
You say to the devil that he gobbled them all. The devil says, “That’s a bummer because now we are stranded at the edge of the galaxy.”
What do you do?
